About The Helix

The Helix is a large-scale green space and regeneration project in Falkirk, combining landscape design, public art and community facilities. Shaped by the area’s industrial heritage, it promotes sustainable land use, outdoor recreation and environmental conservation, with Green Flag and Green Tourism Gold accreditation. The site is home to The Kelpies, the 30-metre-high sculptures by artist Andy Scott, celebrating the role of working horses in Scotland’s industrial past. The Helix is supported by Falkirk Council, the Big Lottery, Scottish Canals, Sustrans and SCORE. It hosts events and activities throughout the year.
